Thanks you for your explaination. Actually, what I have in mind initially is
some sort of dynamic adaptation so that there is always a fine mesh around
wave front but coarse mesh elsewhere. The purpose is to reduce the problem
size and hence save running time and storage space for our own project when
the source is an approximation to delta function with narrow support. Then, I
realize this is not easy even for us to manipulate in our project such data
on a nonuniform discritization.
