Actually, neither getdp nor gmsh seemed to crash (you should see a
"Fatal error" message). My guess is that your OS simply killed gmsh due
to a lack of memory. Could you try to run gmsh *without* opengl display
lists (cf. "Options->General->Use display lists")? Display lists seem to
cause some problems with a bunch of video cards on Linux.
