This is strange. The first message "Warning: Overlay visual not
available" is a regular (harmless) warning produced by Gmsh (so it seems
that Gmsh runs --partially-- on your machine). Then the second message
claims that the "glViewport" symbol is unresolved (glViewport is a
standard routine provided by libGL)... -> Have you tried using Mesa
instead of native OpenGL?

(The OS of the HP I use is "HP-UX B.10.20 A 9000/780".)
