That's the right way. (Nothing's changed...)

Of course: -bgm expects a background mesh, i.e., a post-processing
view--not a mesh file.

- 'File->Open' if you want to reinitialize the database (same effect as
specifying the file as the first argument in the command line, e.g.,
"gmsh file.msh")

- 'File->Merge' if you want to merge the mesh with a geometry or another
mesh (same effect as specifying the file as the second, third, etc.,
argument in the command line, e.g., "gmsh file.geo file.msh other.msh
view1.pos view2.pos").
