You can do both... The easiest is probably to create a single view of
vector primitives ("vector triangles", "vector tetrahedra", etc.) with
as many steps as there are eigen modes.

You can then visualize the displacements by selecting
Options>View>Aspect>Vector display>Displacement and adjust the amplitude
of the displacement with the "Displacement factor" option.

If you want to plot another field on the deformed mesh, you can also
load another view in addition to the vector view and use the
"DisplacementRaise" plugin.
