[Gmsh] Random mesh?

Hi Gmshers
Is there a way to get Gmsh to produce a unique repeatable 2D mesh with
triangles when one presses the  2D mesh button? I seem to get a
different mesh every time? I'm surprised that the resulting mesh is not
unique & produces the same one every time?

Is it possible to view the quality or get a measure of a 2D mesh?

Gmsh ver 2.0.8 on windows 2000
