[Gmsh] CFD software toolchain?

Hi all,

I am beginning my journey into the wonderful world of aerodynamics. I 
have found that numerous open source CFD projects recommend gmsh, but I 
am failing to connect a few dots (conceptually). How do I add 
information to describe the airplanes that I want to try out in my 
later simulations? This seems to be either done at the same time in the 
toolchain as when I use gmsh, or perhaps while I am using the program? 
Any hints would be great. :)
