[Gmsh] wall normal extrusion

Hi,

For a boundary layer mesh creation, is there a way to extrude a line in wall normal direction?
Extrude { expression-list } { extrude-list layers } requires specification of normal, however I am looking for something in which I will be required to specify only to extrude in inside or outside direction.
