[Gmsh] Gmsh with parallel IO and HDF5

Hi, 

I use gmsh for mesh generation and post-processing/visualization. My code 
is parallel (MPI) and I was thinking of implementing parallel I/O through 
the HDF5 library, specifically outputting .pos files containing data to be 
read by gmsh. 

Does gmsh support HDF5 file formats (like other visualization software such 
as VisIt)? If not, are there any plans to do so in the future? And has 
anyone had any experience using some sort of parallel I/O and 
post-processing the files in gmsh and can share that experience?
