[Gmsh] lower-dimensional elements in .inp files

I am trying to use gmsh to define sets of nodes to use later in calculix to
define loads and contact. Principally I have been dealing with 2d models,
but I have the same problem in 3d models:
When I define my physical groups to be just a surface then all the elements
in the .inp file I export are plane stress elements. This is fine, but I
would really like the .inp file to include some node sets for me. So, if I
add a physical group as the edge of my surface, then I get T3D2 elements in
the .inp file which are undesirable.
I attached a simple example file that shows the T3D2 elements. So to
summarize, I just want a .inp file with plane stress elements and then a
few named sets composed of the nodes on the edge of the model.
Thanks,
Collin
