[Gmsh] executing geo file in gmsh gui

Hi together,

I'm missing something fundamental in the regard of geo files. For  
example the component8_in_a_box.geo from gmsh source code. If I open  
this geo file in the gmsh gui only the geometry is loaded but the rest  
of the code is not executed. How can the code inside the geo file be  
executed with the gmsh gui.
