Thanks for the information's ; even if post-processing is a part of gmsh capabilities, I've been looking for a "light" but accurate post-processor to share results with my colleagues : gmsh is fully adapted for that purpose

There are two formats. One (the legacy one) is self contained and is
made of objects (triangles, tets, hexes) with datas.

The second format is more standard. You have to have a mesh (i.e. a
connectivity) and FE results can be saved as data’s for

and $ElementNodeData.

Is all the element supported (from shell to volumic elements - 1rst
to 2nd order ones)?

Yes. High order elements are supported, in both formats.

Is there a limitation in terms of max number of elements?

No :-) The only limitation is the RAM of your computer. Note that the
second format with $NodeData is clearly cheaper
in term of memory.
