Dear Alan,

The solution to compute the volume is in the enclosed file.

Objet : [Gmsh] [Newbie] Calculating Area and Volume.

Greetings from a Sunny, if Chilly, South Africa.

I am modelling a rather complex geometry, and wish to extract the surface Area, and the Volume. According to mailing list archives, I have managed on the Area, but cannot logically extend that to Volume, since I have no idea what I am really doing with the Plugins.

I include a minimal, simple cube, 2m by 3m by 1/2m. This correctly yields 17m^2 for the surface area, but does not compute 3m^3 for the volume.

I would appreciate any pointers,

Alan.
