[Gmsh] Is full/all quad recombination possible?

>From the blossom-quad paper and the example images it seems that all quad
recombination should be possible (without leaving any triangles). However,
I have yet to be able to find a setting that allows this for more complex
geometries (attached star shaped polygon example).

Should this be possible in Gmsh. Or are the example images made with quad
recombination, followed by quad splitting (catmull clark tri -> quad), and
post smoothing?
