Hello,

No farfield grid has been created with the .geo file (see .png
file and .geo file) (I've used Mesh/Define/2D). However the
farfield is created if commands relative to the boundary layer are
in comments. But perhaps it is a question of gmsh version (2.13.0)
?

Remark : when I save the grid containing only the boundary layer
into a .p3d file, this .p3d file is empty. that means that the
grid is not a "ijk structured" grid.

In the NACA0012 .geo file, I create a "hybrid" grid (eg
unstructured+ijk structured) without using boundary layer gmsh
capability. I save the grid both into a .p3d file (then only the
structured part is saved), and into a .msh file (then all the grid
is considered as unstructured). To have only the farfield grid, I
comment lines concerning the structured part and I save the grid
into .msh file. A preprocessing outside gmsh is necessary to
identify connections between both grids.
