[Getdp] mesh aspect ratio

Hello,

I would like to know if highly distorded meshes (like quadrangle with a
high aspect ratio 1:10) usually make sens with the finite element
method? Is it possible to generate such a mesh with Gmsh (like for
instance by specifying 2 different characteristic lengths)?
