There is a small example on 
http://geuz.org/getdp/wiki/MicroWaveElectricField (username: getdp, 
password: wiki). Just remove the non-homogeneous boundary condition in 
the constraints and use the MW_e_2D_PVP resolution.

Much enhanced eigensolvers (using Arpack) will be available soon in the 
nightly cvs snapshots.
