I just thought I'd mention...

Elmer-front supports IDEAS UNV files and also Abaqus, Elmer and Fidap neutral
file:

Abaqus and ANSYS formats would be interesting as I think some free tools like
CalculiX and Felyx use them.

And there's also Sandia's Exodus II binary format which is probably not all
that useful or easy (it was implemented with NetCDF).
