[Gmsh] Distance measurement of isosurfaces

Hallo,
 
I have a dataset which contains a 3D struture of different materials. I
have created isosurfaces for the structure and imported these file via
.stl GMSH.
The original 3D programm can't do fast measurements of the length, hide
and depth of the 3D structure.
So I am looking for a solution to measure distances for the different
strutures in GMSH and to automatize them (e.g. 20 distance measurements
per material  in a structure).
Is this possible with GMSH? 
If not, are there other programs which can do that?
