This is something that is in development. BTW, it works fine on my laptop.

You need to get the GSHHS 
(http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/mgg/shorelines/gshhs.html) accessible.

Does the plugin produce the file earth_100km.geo ?

If it is the case, can you load it ?
