[Gmsh] gmsh-announce Digest, Vol 37, Issue 1

Thank you Pierre,

I would not be interested in CATIA, but in SolidWorks native import.

If I understand correctly, there is a SolidWorks interface to gmsh which
can not be distributed just for license reasons.
Is there a legal way to get it? We have SolidWorks in our company, so if
the interface can be bought, we would at least consider it.

Best regards,

Matthias

	By the way Mathias,

If you are interested in Catia files in GMSH, you may be
interested in this conversion tool available on the open cascade
website, which allows converting CATIA files into BREP (open cascade)
files that can be opened in GMSH.
	http://www.opencascade.org/support/products/dataex/catia/ (in
english)

http://www.datakit.com/convertisseurs-cao/catia-v5-to-opencascade/93-cat
ia-v5-3d-to-opencascade.html (I hope you can read french...)

	Regards,

	Pierre

		Hi Christophe,

Does it mean that it could be possible to rent a library
or something that GMSH could directly use to read CATPart or CATProduct
(from Catia) files?

Thancks in advance for your comments,

		Regards,

		Pierre

Hi Matthias - It is possible, but the only CAD
kernel for which we can
legally distribute the interface is OpenCascade.
When you link with
OpenCascade you can then load native OpenCascade
files (".brep").

The license for e.g. SolidWorks prevents us from
distributing the
			interface...
