[Gmsh] Can Gmsh define element size using background mesh for 3D tet mesh?

Dear Gmsh developers,

In the example 7, Gmsh loaded a 2D .pos file to define element size for a
triangular mesh. But can I use .pos file to define a tetrahedral background
mesh and use it to mesh a 3D entity with tetrahedral elements?
