[Gmsh] Two overlapping spheres

Dear all,

First of all, I would like to express my gratitude 
for this post sinceit has helped in my thesis
of the influence of the morphology in the
lithium ion batteries. 

Apart from that, I still have some doubts
that I could not figure out yet. Since I
have been typing by scratch only with
Gmsh, it has appeared the following doubts:

-Is it possible to change the characteristic length
to my liking in Gmsh while if the
geometry has been exported from
FreeCAD as a STEP? and if it is how?

-For creating physical elements, where and
how should I do it in FreeCAD or Gmsh?
