[Gmsh] Gmsh is stuck when trying to re-orient normals

Hello,

I'm trying to remesh an stl surface, but gmsh  hangs with the following 
message:

Info    : Re-orient all 16746 face normals coherently

This happens after the compound surface is successfully remeshed. Is there a 
way of telling gmsh not to re-orient the normals so that it terminates its job 
and writes something to a file?
