[Gmsh] Problem with refinement of periodic lines

Hi,

I am working with a simple 2D square domain, meshed using transfinite
lines. Additionally, I am setting opposite boundary faces to be periodic to
extract out periodic node pairs, which is required by my code. This
information is available at the end of the .msh file generated by gmsh.

However, if I to refine the mesh (by splitting) and regenerate the .msh
file, the new nodes generated on the boundaries are not included in the
periodic listing. Is there a way of including the new periodic node pairs
after mesh refinement?
