[Gmsh] use scalar point view as background mesh?

After some search, I find that there is a simple solution, which can embed any point into existing surface.
Point(1)={x,y,z,lc};
Point{1} In Surface{2};

Hi,



Is it possible to use scalar point view as background mesh?

If I set SP(x,y,z){lc},  then the characteristic length near (x,y,z) is lc.



If not, how could I achieve this using gmsh’s current capability?
