[Gmsh] Error with meshing

Maybe your code incorrectly interprets the contents of the generated mesh file (the default mesh file version changed to 4, a major upgrade to the previous 2.2 version)? To use the old output file format, you can e.g. use

gmsh hemisphere.geo -3 -format msh2
