Ok, thank you, in the meantime I had found that out.  From the manual I was supposing that should work also with the built-in geometry Kernel…

The built-in CAD engine is quite limited for the extrusion of curves: it will not create surfaces if the origin and the destination curve are the only ones bounding the resulting surface.

You can use SetFactory("OpenCASCADE"); for such geometries:
