[Gmsh] System calls with Windows

Hello
I'm trying to execute system calls via the command "System"  (e.g. System "del tmp*.jpg";) but it does not work,
which means that nothing happens. There is also no error message in the message console.
I'm running Gmsh 2.4.2 and 2.5.0 under Windows Vista and Windows 7.
Is this a bug or do I have to do something different?
Would anyone be so kind and try to confirm this behavior?
