In fact, this syntax has nothing to do with getdp: it is your shell
(bash, tcsh, the dos shell, etc.) that governs the command line. For
classic shells, '?' stands for any character and '[ab]' stands for
either 'a', or 'b'. Your shell may have a slightly different handling of
wildcards, so just check its documentation...
