[Gmsh] bug in bdf export?

I use gmsh to visualize finite element structures of bevel gears. The gmsh file is generated as a .msh type 2 format file (attached file tooth3dg.msh, screen shot "gear.jpg"). The mesh looks good after opening the file with gmsh version 2.0.8. I exported the mesh using the Save as menu using the bdf filter to a file labeled gear.bdf. After opening the file gear.bdf with gmsh a few points of the FE mesh are out of place (see screen shot "gear saved as bdf and opened with gmsh.jpg").
Thanks for your help.

Claus
