[Gmsh] perspective projection mode limits magnification

Yes, you reach the clipping planes. I don't have a solution for this.

If anybody on the list has some OpenGL experience, the offending code is 
in Graphics/Draw.cpp (InitProjection): I'd be happy to add a fix if I 
knew one...
