[Gmsh] problem with gmsh to Freefem mesh?

It’s in the GUI. You calculate your mesh and then click on Mesh > Optimize3D.
There is certainly a command for scripts but I don’t know it by heart. See the documentation…

Hi Mathias, and thanks to the answer,

How do you use this option exactly ?

Hi,

I didn’t run your example, but how about Mesh > Optimize3D? This has solved problems with malformed meshes for me in the past.

Hi Georgie,
here is a minimum example: if you run the script.sh you would get the error,
thanks a lot!

Hello. I wouldn't have thought that collinearity would present a
problem, necessarily, depending on how the points are used to define
surfaces. I wasn't sure that I'd come across this before so created a
simple degenerate quadrilateral, as attached; Gmsh & FreeFem++ seemed
happy enough.
Or do you mean that the three points are coincident rather than
merely collinear?
Do you have an exemplary .geo file that you could share?

I agree that having to reduce the characteristic length to avoid the
problem would be inconvenient and undesirable, but I'm hopeful that
there's another way.
