 From my point of view FreeCAD does fit in your needs too. Since it  
uses OpenCascade (like GMSH) you can exchange geometries in native  
brep format. With this it is easy to make CompSolids. With CompSolids  
you can make connected multio body meshen. In the regard of geometry.  
FreeCAD is fully parametric and scriptble in python.
